Dear Parents,

We are down to our last four weeks! There is so much going on--so once again--remember to check back often to see what is happening in our classrooms.

Science Fair Projects
This is the first time I have done these projects this way and I wanted to say way to go! They look fabulous and the kids have so much ownership of it. They have been having fun sharing them and we have been learning so much and reinforcing what we already have learned! Thanks for taking time out to do those with your kids!

Butterflies and Cinderella
This week (cross our fingers), we should be getting some caterpillars in the mail to watch go through metamorphosis. We will be finishing up our life cycle unit with a writing piece.

We will also be starting our Cinderella unit tomorrow. We will be reading Cinderella stories from around the world. Read the side note to give yourself a little more information about this unit!

Field Day Volunteers
For field day, there will be a dunk tank and only one child from each class may be in it--but to have your child in the drawing, you will need to sign a release for your child. So, if your child wants to be in it, sign the permission slip and return it.

Good News/Bad News
I already talked with the class about this, but during our off track time, I had the opportunity to interview for a few different positions at the district office. I ended up getting one, so these are my last four weeks teaching at Foothills. I will be working at the district office as a mentor teacher specialist, working with provisional teachers and helping them develop their teaching more. This is a great opportunity for me to continue to advance in my career--but I will definitely miss teaching kids! I am going to cherish these last four weeks and hope that your children enjoy them as well. I have told them that I would love to keep in touch with them--and that they can email me about things happening to them in their future. But--I am grateful for the families and the faculty here at Foothills for helping mold me into the teacher I have become. Thanks for being so supportive of me as I have helped your children this year!
